Along with your application and driver declaration you will need to supply a copy of your licence and a bank statement for the last 60 days.
What kind of documents do you require?
We will require a copy of your valid driver’s licence (with the current address) plus either your passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate. In addition to a current bank statement
What is the minimum term hire?
It depends on the car. For example on all our Tesla models we allow for a 24 Hour hire as mininum. However with all other vehicle mininum hire is a total of 120 days. You can hire all the way up to 9 months for a great discounted rate.
Do we require a bond?
Yes. We do ask for a $300 bond as well as an equal amount of two payments on your first payment. At the end of the term we don’t charge you the final instalment so your balance is even on changeover or hand-back.
How old do I have to be to subscribe to a car?
For subscription you must be 25 years of age or over
Can I pay the whole term upfront?
Yes, we allow businesses to pay the whole term upfront in one payment.
Do I have to pay for servicing and maintenance?
No! The advantage of car subscription is that all normal running costs are included in one simple payment.
Can I add a driver?
Yes, the driver must pass the eligibility criteria. We allow up to two additional drivers per subscription for $15.00 per week per driver.
Who isn't covered by insurance?
With our subscription vehicles we do not provide cover for people under 21 years of age, Learner or Provisional drivers, Peer to Peer vehicles, rideshare/Uber use, courier use or cash rental use.
Do I need a good credit rating?
We will need to look into your credit history and perform the appropriate credit checks to determine whether you will be a suitable applicant. This is not only in our interest but in yours as well.
Are there any additional charges once my vehicle has been returned?
Your Karmo vehicle will need to be returned in exactly the same condition it was when picked up. This includes the same fuel level the vehicle had on departure and a thorough clean and vacuum. If this is not done, you will be asked to clean it, or we will need to charge you a fee for those extra costs. You may be charged as well for excess kms travelled.
What happens if I am involved in a car accident?
First of all, make sure you and any occupants are safe. Call an ambulance immediately if you are concerned for someone. Once everyone is safe and secure, call your roadside assistance phone number on the windscreen if required. If the car is driveable bring it into us at Karmo when we are open, and we can advise you what to do next. If the car has been towed, as it isn’t drivable, let us know immediately and we will organise a replacement vehicle within one working day.
Who is responsible for the damage?
As per any insurance policy the driver is responsible for any damage on the vehicle. We have a set damage waiver however we have several other options to decrease this amount by paying a little more on your weekly figure.
What if I don't bring in my vehicle when asked?
We give our customers plenty of time to be able to organise their day so they can come in and pick up their new car. If for some reason you can’t make it, we will organise a time that is suitable for you. If the notified driver doesn’t turn up without given prior notice, then there will be a daily charge of $75 deducted.
Do I pay for charging?
Yes, All other costs are included however Tolls and Charging are not. If you charge at a Tesla Super Charger we will onlay the bill to you with a $5.50 admin charge.
Is the car covered by insurance?
Yes all our cars are covered by a full comprehensive insurance policy.
What additional costs are there?
The driver is responsible for fuel, tolls, speeding fines and damage outside of the insurance policy. Your car will be given to you in a clean state and it must return that way
How far will my EV drive?
It comes down to the EV you choose. Some have larger battery capacities which enable higher kilometres ranges of over 600km while some have smaller capacity batteries that will travel around 200kms before requiring a recharge.
Can I charge my EV at home?
YES! If you use a normal 10amp plug expect to charge at a rate of around 10-15 kms per hour. 15 amp plug 18/-25 kms per hour. If you install a wall connector charger it can charge anywhere up to 100kms per hour.
How does handover work?
We will confirm your booking and you will come in to collect your new vehicles from one of our Karmo locations.
How often are payments made?
If you are a private consumer, payments are made every 7 days.
If I have been declined for finance on a loan can I still subscribe to a car?
In most cases yes. Lending criteria to be passed for approval has certainly got harder and we understand there are many people that need a new car, can afford one however might not fulfil some criteria check points that lenders require and therefore declines. Enquire with us and we can take you through some flexible innovative driving options.
How are payments made?
All payments are taken directly from your bank account while a credit card can be used as a secondary back up payment option.
How do I get my subscription car?
There are three ways you can get your new vehicles, from either one of our Karmo locations, from one of our dealer partners or we can deliver the vehicle to you for a fee.
How much is your damage waiver?
Options can be as low as $1000, please contact us to take you through several flexible options we have.
How many kilometres can I drive?
Depending on your term you are given a certain amount of kilometres before you are charged 14.5cents per kilometre over that allowance. 4 Months is 1,750 kms per month 6 & 9 Months is 1,666 kms per month
Can I add kilometres onto my subcription?
Yes, there are options on some vehicles this may be possible. When applying please comment on how many kilometres you think you will require.
Can I put company branding on the car?
We will assist you in using your vehicle as a Tool of trade with several options of branding allowed to go on the vehicle.
